El Chipirón in Austin, Texas

Spanish food lovers in Austin are in luck, as there’s a new restaurant open for business. El Chipiron is spreading the love for ham, cheese, and wine from Spain, converting local nonbelievers into diehard fans with its incredible menu. Run by a husband and wife team, the duo serves authentic tapas and pintxos, perfect for sharing, in line with the spirit of Spanish culinary customs. Menu highlights include Ibérico pork with winter veggies and sweet potato; Galician-octopus terrine with piparra peppers and potato; mussels, Albariño, garlic, chorizo and bread; and half of a chicken in a pepitoria sauce, potato, arugula and apple.
