Organized by FEPEX (the Spanish Federation of Associations of Exporting Producers of Fruit, Vegetables, Flowers and Plants) and Madrid's IFEMA convention center, which will host the event, the 2017 edition of Fruit Attraction will feature more than 1,500 exhibitors – up 20% from the previous year – from thirty different countries. Additionally, there will be an estimated 60,000 visitors, representing 110 countries.
Fruit Attraction is a key event for the fresh produce industry, and it is particularly important for Spanish companies from important fruit and vegetable production areas including La Rioja, Navarre, Aragón, Andalusia, Castile-La Mancha, Castile-León, the Canary Islands, Catalonia, the Valencian Community, Murcia and Extremadura. This initiative provides an ideal platform for producers to mingle with buyers from all over the world who, year-after-year, are drawn to this country's excellent produce.
Fruit Attraction also provides the framework for a wide selection of parallel activities, such as Fruit Fusion, the fair's gastronomy space, which hosts a range of talks, cooking demonstrations, product tastings and more. This year, Fruit Fusion will take place under the theme of "Flavors of the Avant-garde", welcoming well-known chefs from all over Spain to demonstrate diverse culinary applications for things like garlic, chestnuts, pomegranates, berries, wild mushrooms, artichokes and other star Spanish products.
