Slated to take place from October 7–10, 2018 at the Kursaal convention center in San Sebastián, this will be the twentieth anniversary of this annual gastronomic fete, which brings together some of the finest chefs in Spain and beyond to discuss the present and future state of affairs of haute cuisine.
One of the highlights of this year’s program is the roster of incredible Spanish chefs that will be taking part. They include Juan Mari Arzak, Martín Berasategui, Pedro Subijana, Andoni Luis Aduriz, Hilario Arbelaitz, Eneko Atxa, Josean Alija, Joan Roca, Carme Ruscalleda, Quique Dacosta, Ángel León, Paco Pérez, Dani García, Nacho Manzano and Pedro and Marcos Morán. Many of these venerated chefs will appear with their former mentors / disciples, adding a special twist to their presentations.
Other Spanish chefs will give insight to what is going on in the world of haute cuisine in their particular Spanish region. These include Diego Guerrero, Iván Domínguez, Juan Carlos and Jonathan Padrón, Pablo González, Víctor Martín, Maria José San Román, Mari Carmen Vélez, Arnau Bosch, Óscar García, Xanti Elías and Yolanda León.
Furthermore, there will be a series of joint talks will be given by brothers Mario, Rafael and Diego Sandoval of Madrid restaurant Coque; Mateu Casanas, Oriol Castro and Eduard Xatruch of Disfrutar restaurant in Barcelona; and the trios of Albert Raurich, Paco Morales and Miguel Ángel Mayor; and Kiko Moya, Alberto Ferruz and Ricard Camarena.
Another important topic will be that of “the future is sustainable,” which will be discussed by chefs Germán Martitegui, Rodrigo de la Calle, Rodolfo Guzmán, Chele González and Virgilio Martínez.
And fans of Spanish food in the USA will be happy to know that José Andrés will also be in town for San Sebastián Gastronomika this year, providing his unique point of view on the evolution of world gastronomy.
