The Barcelona-based restaurant Disfrutar is indubitably enjoying its most recent accolade, having just received the Miele One To Watch, given by the 50 Best Restaurants in the World. This distinction recognizes those restaurants who haven’t been included in the ranking, but which have the potential to make the list in a future edition.
Disfrutar, which opened its doors in 2014, is run by a trio of ex-elBulli chefs: Oriol Castro, Eduard Xatruch and Mateu Casañas. They prepare modern Mediterranean cuisine that has consistently wowed customers since inception, gaining a strong reputation for serving complex, creative and surprising dishes.
According to a source at the 50 Best Restaurants, “Disfrutar highlights the individual talent of the three chefs, and expands their influence on Spain’s culinary scene. Their commitment to strengthening the creative limits of gastronomy makes them worthy of this award.” The three chefs will be in Melbourne, Australia on April 5th to attend the 50 Best Restaurants gala dinner, at which the winning restaurants will be announced.
