€8,000 million will be distributed this year across sectors to reactivate the post-covid economy, but how much will go to the Horeca space? 360 business leaders supplying Horeca players at the Horeca Professional Expo (HIP) this year will offer a much needed oxygen tank to small entrepreneurs. Among those participating are some pioneering Spanish players including Food Delivery pioneer Glovo who reached unicorn status back in 2019 and who is currently live in over 22 countries and growing, is hoping to tap into this strategic experience at the event.
ElBulli foundation is another global innovation reference present. Their avant-garde research prestige has motivated collaboration including startup Novameat, which recently announced a partnership with chefs Oriol Castro and Eduard Xatruch, experts in Molecular Gastronomy.
Robotic food startup Foodbyrobots will also be touting their value at this year's event, as foodservice Robot Technology saw a surge in demand. The company made history after announcing the opening of the first ever robot-controlled restaurant in Spain to promote better food safety.
Rewarding innovation in hospitality
The Horeca New Business Model Awards within the framework of HIP recognize the transformation of companies dedicated to innovation in Horeca as the ones mentioned and this year will showcase the true protagonists of the season; the entrepreneurs that were able to adapt efficiently during the pandemic.
