2023 Food and Wine Classic in Aspen

The 40th Anniversary of Food and Wine Classic Aspen is here! Get ready for the most exciting culinary event of the year! Foods and Wines from Spain and #alimentosdespaña will present the region’s premium products and innovative cuisine at this one-of-a-kind wine and food festival.

From Friday (6/16) to Sunday (6/18), guests will have access to the official Spain Tent in Wagner Park, showcasing Spain’s outstanding wines and spirits and live cooking demonstrations where top quality ingredients from Spain are transformed into delectable tapas.

The extensive list of wines from many of Spain’s protected Designations of Origin (PDO’s),  will be presented by 18 wine exhibitors,  at five  grand tastings in the Spain Tent  as well as in several  chef and sommelier led seminars and special events throughout the weekend. (The list of participating producers/wineries can be found in the below Exhibitor box).

And what would wine be without delicious food pairings? To accompany the wines, guests will be welcomed to Spain with a sampling of authentic Spanish bites prepared by Barcelona Wine Bar (BWB), to include gildas of boquerones, manzanilla olive and piparras, montaditos of Jamon Serrano, Manchego cheese and Valencian membrillo, and hand-carved ibérico ham. Chef Emilio Garcia of BWB will provide live cooking demos of Arroz Caldoso and Pulpo a la Gallega.

Friday, June 16

  • 10:00 am – 11:00 am:  Seminar “Rioja vs Ribera del Duero: The Great Tempranillos of Spain”.  Presented by June Rodil – Paepcke 2
  • 11:00 am – 11:30 am: Private Trade Grand Tasting #1 – Grand Tasting Pavilion.
  • 11:30 am – 1:30 pm: Grand Tasting #1 – Grand Tasting Pavilion (General Admission).
  • 3:00 pm – 4:00 pm: “Celebrating Delicious and Healthy: The Nourishing Flavors of Spain”, presented by Chef Seamus Mullen – The Jerome Hotel
  • 4:30 pm – 6:30 pm: Grand tasting #2 – Grand Tasting Pavilion (General Admission).

Saturday, June 17
