José Andrés to Open Jaleo Outpost in Chicago in Mid-2020

Details about the 10,000-square-foot restaurant are still sparse, but Andres has a loyal following in Chicago eagerly awaiting this new restaurant.

Little by little, José Andrés is extending his restaurant empire throughout the United States, bringing his delicious Spanish food to every corner of the country.

The most recent location on his radar is Chicago, where he will be opening up another outpost of his famous restaurant Jaleo, this time in the upscale River North neighborhood.

This new locale is slated to open in mid-2020, and reports suggest that Andrés has been looking to open a restaurant in Chicago for some time. All of his restaurants are designed specifically for their location, and at the moment there aren’t a lot of details about how the 10,000-square-foot space will be set up. Andrés may go on to open additional restaurants in Chicago in the future, though his focus is on Jaleo at the moment.

When Andrés, who has been nominated for the 2019 Nobel Peace Prize, isn’t working with his company ThinkFoodGroup, he’s busy serving hot meals to victims of natural disasters through his non-profit, World Central Kitchen. He recently received the James Beard Foundation Award for Humanitarian of the Year and he opened the massive food hall in New York City, Mercado Little Spain.
