It’s not every day that a Spanish restaurant pops up on a list of the best activities for luxury travelers, but that’s what happened. Virtuoso, a luxury travel network that highlights the best hotels and travel advisors, recently released its official Luxe Report for 2019, for which it polls more than 17,000 travel advisors and creates a list of the absolute best experiences for luxury travelers.
As expected, the list includes wholly unique, once-in-a-lifetime ideas, but only one is related to food and it’s in Spain. Number 4 on Virtuoso’s carefully curated list is to eat at Michelin-star restaurant Tickets, in Barcelona. Run by the world-famous Adrià brothers, Ferran and Albert, who secured their place in the history books with their now-closed restaurant elBulli, in Roses, Catalonia, this extremely popular restaurant has a two-month wait for reservations.
Tickets ranked 32nd on the list of the Top 50 Restaurants in the World, and it’s known for its highly inventive menu, focus on molecular gastronomy, and singular dining experience. According to the restaurant, “The concept of ‘La Vida Tapa’ presents a new way of understanding the world of gastronomy and life: an entertaining way to eat that turns the participant into an interpreter of a work of theatre and circus vaudeville.”
