Eat Spain Drink Spain is a campaign focusing on Spanish food and wine and is aimed at the UK wine consumer. Our mission is to demonstrate the quality and diversity of Spanish wine and food.
The 2019 edition consisted of a series of events bringing together the foods and wines from Spain. These events ranged from wine shows to food and wine matching promotions and tasting at independent merchants/bars, as well as educational workshops to the trade.
We closely collaborated with well-known wine personalities such as Tim Atkin MW, Susie Barrie MW or Peter Richards MW, and showcased an eclectic mix of Spanish wines and highlighted the quality and diversity of artisan Spanish foods such as jamón, cheese, salted almonds and chorizo.
About the Campaign
Eat Spain Drink Spain was present in 5 consumer wine shows geographically spread. The shows which included the Three Wine Men and personalities like Tim Atkin MW, attracted more than 3,700 wine-interested consumers who also enjoyed a variety of artisan Spanish foods.
In a collaboration with THE WINE MERCHANT magazine, the Eat Spain Drink Spain workshops in Edinburgh and Manchester aimed to invite key trade people to a discuss and taste the merits and flexibility of Spanish foods and wines. Feedback of the events was superb and considered very worthwhile by all involved.
Eat Spain Drink Spain promotion
18 independent wine merchants and bars also promoted Eat Spain Drink Spain. Through a supply of a selected easy-to-handle authentic Spanish foods such as olives, salted almonds, cheese, and chorizo, where the stores could also promote a selection of Spanish wines.
A resounding success, the combination of face-to-face and online activity meant that we were able to reach 12,737 targeted consumers and trade with our message of Eat Spain Drink Spain.
