San Sebastian Gastronomika Goes Virtual This Year with Innovative Features

It’s that time of year! The 22nd edition of San Sebastian Gastronomika is almost upon us and will be held from October 5th to the 9th, but this year it will be entirely online. The platform will be revealed very soon and anyone who wants to attend will be able to register for free. This will indubitably allow the organizers to expand the conference’s reach and include more attendees.

Each day of the event will focus on a different trend of the future and will feature live events and activities, some of them organized in the city’s leading restaurants, with no audience.
The competitions traditionally held each year will also continue, such as the National Grill Competition and the National Potato Salad Championship. Even better, viewers at home will be able to participate and ask questions using special software developed specifically for the event.

One of the highlights of this annual conference is the market where companies have the opportunity to showcase their products. This year the market will be virtual and participants will have virtual stands, with the added innovative feature that companies will be able to interact with visitors as if they were meeting live.

This year will feature, in particular, Spanish chefs cooking alongside top chefs from Italy, a focus on the concept of “Black Cuisines Matter,” and more than 40 presentations, workshops, live cooking demos and even tastings. José Andrés will also receive an award for his humanitarian work.
