Premios de Alimentos de España Celebrates its 30th Anniversary

The longest-running awards in the sector aim to recognize the versatility, excellence and variety of Spanish products

Premios de Alimentos de España Celebrates its 30th Anniversary

The Premios de Alimentos de España, which are organized by the Spanish Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Food and the Environment, are celebrating their 30th anniversary.

In honor of the occasion, a special event was held on November 29th to reflect the way the wealth and variety of the Mediterranean Diet has been recognized since the awards were created, back in 1987. The awards, the longest-running in the industry, seek to underline the diversity, quality and excellece of Spanish products.

The winners on this occasion included Destilerías Siderit, recognized for its Entrepreneurial Initiative in the Food Industry; Castillo de Canena Olive Juice, which received the Organic Production Award; Cárnicas Tabladillo, which took home the Internationalization Award; and Puerto de Celeiro, which received the Fish and Aquaculture Production Award.

Distinctions were also awarded for cheese, olive oil and wine. Winners included Quesería Lopicomo, Best Goat’s Cheese;  Quesería Ricardo Ramiro, Best Mature Sheep’s Cheese; Queixería Don Crisanto de Villalba, Special Premio Alimentos de España Award; Altos de Inurrieta 2014, from Bodega Inurrieta, Best Wine in 2018; Almazaras de la Subbética, Special Premio Alimentos de España Award; and Casas de Hualdo, Best Extra Virgin Olive Oil from Mature Olives.
