Spanish flavors will be wafting through the streets of Mumbai starting on March 13th. Spanish chef Miguel Blanco will be cooking up a storm in the city from the 13th to the 23rd as part of a special pop-up restaurant hosted at the JW Marriott Mumbai Sahar.
Blanco, traveling all the way from Hotel Arts Barcelona, will be firing up the stoves to prepare a wide range of dishes for Spanish food fans. This includes salmorejo with eggs and ham, Spanish omelet, traditional gazpacho, pa amb tomaquet (bread with tomato), seafood fideua (a noodle-based dish), chicken and vegetarian paella, samfaina (a roasted vegetable dish similar to ratatouille), and chicken chilindrón. Desserts will include crema catalana (similar to crème brûlée), Santiago almond cake, and leche frita (fried pudding squares). He is ready to “take patrons on a culinary trip through different regions of Spain with impressive seafood dishes and traditional Spanish desserts,” according to vogue.in.
Guests will be able to wash it all down with a selection of wines from Spain, flavored sangria and also Spanish cocktails.
With a view to preparing dishes that are as authentic as possible, Blanco will bring many of the ingredients with him from Barcelona.
