Foodbox, the hospitality group that owns a large number of brands, has big plans for growth this year and will aim to open at least 27 additional locales and at most 40. To this end, it will be spending 6 million euros, expects to create around 250 direct jobs, and will be heading to cities throughout Spain, from Bilbao to Benalmádena (Málaga).
Foodbox has a presence overseas as well, in France at the moment, and will now be setting up shop in two new and exciting markets: Morocco and Hungary. According to the company’s managing director, in revistas.eleconomista.es, “Opportunities arise, either with franchisees in other countries or local operators who have a strong interest in our brands… We have brands with great potential for growth, in Spain and internationally. We want to carefully analyze consumption in other markets so as to choose the best brand to respond to consumer preferences.”
The company will launch its brand Taberna del Volapié in Hungary. Taberna del Volapié offers consumers the best flavors from southern Spain. Menu highlights include fried fish, Andalusian-style chicken, salmorejo, a variety of rice dishes, and plenty of seafood, from prawns and mussels to octopus.
