Buceo 95

Type:  Spanish Cuisine, Tapas
The first thing you notice is the strikingly beautiful bright red door that welcomes you in off the bustle of 95th Street. Once inside the lure is a wonderful combination of luscious food scents, a friendly welcome by the food and wine savvy staff and just the right amount of comfortable high tables and chairs throughout the medium-sized contemporary space that although lively, never feels too crowded or sounds too loud. Other seating options include an ample bar area and when the weather is nice, Buceo 95 doubles as a sidewalk café.The menu consists of an upscale spin on traditional tapas and Spanish dishes, like goat cheese with saffron honey croquettes, roasted mushrooms with sweet sherry sauce, shrimps fried in olive oil and garlic, meatballs with tomatoes and red peppers and bacon wrapped dates with chorizo and goat cheese.Just as impressive is their world wide wine list, available by the bottle and for value, also available by the quartino. Straddling between New York’s Upper West Side and Uptown locations, Buceo 95 is a welcome and popular addition to the area.
