The Menorcan Purebred Horse takes centre stage at the island’s most emblematic equestrian event.

The Purebred Menorcan Horse Fair was held in Menorca from May 10 to 11, 2025, positioning itself as a key event to promote the cultural, genetic, and touristic value of the Menorcan Purebred Horse on an international scale.

A total of 3 buyers participated in a comprehensive program designed to highlight both the morphological qualities of the Menorcan breed and the cultural heritage of the island. Participants attended the main sections of the morphological competition at the fairgrounds in Es Mercadal, in addition to taking part in guided visits to award-winning livestock farms known for their export capacity and breed excellence.

Among the standout experiences was a horseback riding route along the Camí de Cavalls. The program also included promotional sessions with horses on iconic places, designed to generate audiovisual content and global visibility for the breed through digital platforms. Complementing the equestrian focus, the agenda featured visits to cultural landmarks, such as prehistoric Talayotic sites declared UNESCO World Heritage and some traditional Menorcan villages.

The quality and diversity of the activities, along with the engagement of sector professionals, solidified the Purebred Menorcan Horse Fair 2025 as a benchmark event for the international promotion of Spanish livestock. It reaffirmed the breed’s growing reputation in foreign markets and highlighted the island of Menorca as a unique meeting point between tradition, biodiversity, and innovation in the livestock sector.
