Barcelona Wine Week 2025

A new edition of Barcelona Wine Week (BWW) was held from February 3rd to 5th, 2025 at the Montjuïc exhibition center of Fira de Barcelona. The main topic of this year was “Challenges and opportunities for Spanish wine” and it brought together more than 1,200 wineries and featured the representation of 81 designations of origin and quality seals from all over Spain, consolidating itself as one of the main international platforms for the promotion of Spanish wine. With a focus on sustainability, innovation and pairings with Spanish gastronomy, BWW is positioned as the ideal place for industry professionals to discover the excellence and diversity of Spanish wines.

As part of this year’s event, Foods & Wines from Spain and Alimentos de España developed a Hosted Buyers Program, which included the participation of 47 international buyers selected in collaboration with the Economic and Commercial Offices of the Spanish embassies abroad. These buyers came from the following regions:

  • Asia: 16 buyers from countries such as China, Japan, South Korea, Vietnam, Thailand, Singapore, Taiwan and Kazakhstan, reflecting the growing interest of this region in Spanish wines due to their versatility and ability to pair with local cuisines.
  • America: 12 buyers, with 5 from the United States, which continues to be a strategic market for its demand for premium wines, along with representatives from Canada, Mexico and the Dominican Republic.
  • Europe and other markets: 19 buyers from countries such as the United Kingdom, Germany, Poland, Ireland, the Netherlands, Sweden, Austria, Greece, Hungary, Serbia, Croatia and Finland, as well as 1 from Australia, all of them interested in incorporating the diversity and quality of Spanish wines into their product portfolios.

The program was designed to introduce these buyers to the wide variety of quality wines offered by Spain and encourage their entry into key international markets. During BWW, buyers holded more than 700 meetings with Spanish wineries in an exclusive space, facilitating direct contact between producers and professionals. In addition, as part of the program, participants attended a networking cocktail that complemented this experience, favoring the generation of new business opportunities in a more relaxed environment.
