FIMA 2026

From 10th to 14th of February, Foods and Wines from Spain and Alimentos de España organised a reverse trade mission that brought 16 agri-sector professionals from 13 countries —Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Egypt, Ghana, Greece, Iraq, Kenya, Lithuania, Oman, Serbia, Uruguay and Uzbekistan— to Spain with the aim of giving them first-hand insight into the activity, capabilities and technological offer of Spanish companies.

The invited participants were senior decision-makers, including CEOs, general managers and purchasing directors, representing established agribusiness companies with significant presence in their respective markets. The companies they represent are active across key segments of the agricultural value chain, including the import and distribution of agricultural machinery, irrigation systems, fertilisers, agrochemicals, crop protection products and technical farming solutions.

Many of these companies operate as leading distributors in their countries, managing extensive commercial networks and working directly with farmers, cooperatives and agricultural enterprises. Several have long-standing market experience and play a strategic role in the supply of agricultural inputs and technology at national or regional level. Their attendance therefore ensured not only international visibility, but direct access to professionals with real purchasing power and capacity to introduce new technologies into their markets.

FIMA 2026

The main working day took place on 9 February, prior to the opening of the fair, and was entirely dedicated to pre-arranged bilateral meetings. Over the course of the day, a total of 119 B2B meetings were held between the international professionals and Spanish companies from across the agritech ecosystem. These meetings enabled Spanish firms to present their products and technological solutions directly to high-level representatives with concrete market access in Latin America, Africa, Europe and the Middle East.

Following the B2B programme, the delegation remained in Zaragoza on 10 February and the morning of 11 February, visiting the fair and continuing conversations initiated during the meetings. This combination of structured business encounters and trade fair visits provided participants with a comprehensive overview of Spain’s agritech capabilities while strengthening professional ties in a dynamic international setting.

Through initiatives such as this reverse mission, direct contact between Spanish companies and influential international partners, is facilitated, strengthening the global and competitiveness of the Spanish agritech sector.
