Cheese From Spain Awards takes place annually at GourmetQuesos, the competition rewarding the best cheeses in Spain. This event was held at Salón Gourmets in Madrid, one of the most prestigious fine food and beverage trade fairs in Europe. Organized by ICEX España Exportación e Inversiones, this promotional activity brought together 6 international expert juries for a rigorous evaluation process.
During the trade fair, a panel of renowned specialists—cheesemongers, journalists, and sectoral experts—conducted blind tastings to assess the quality, flavor, texture, and innovation of participating finalist cheeses. The competition not only highlights the excellence of Spanish artisanal production but also serves as a strategic platform for international promotion.
The winning cheeses are officially announced at Salón Gourmets and immediately become part of ICEX’s international visibility campaign, gaining exposure in high-impact markets across Europe and North America. These markets include Ireland, Poland, the Netherlands, Switzerland, United Kingdom and the United States. ADDITIONALLY, THEY WILL TAKE PART IN THE FOLLOWING ACTIONS:
