Spanish Cuisine, Tapas, Paella - La Tasca del Norte restaurants were born in Guayaquil in 2004. The first of them, now temporarily closed due to the effects of covid-19, in the business area of the city, in Kennedy Norte. Years later, in 2016, the second of them was opened in Samborondon, in the Plaza Lagos urbanization and shopping center; this attends normally. The main idea was, and still is, that of a restaurant where you can eat Spanish specialties. Traditional Spanish food, paying attention primarily to the quality of the product and with traditional preparations. Fresh fish and seafood, classic rice dishes, meats and roasts.The menu maintains a first section of portions and tapas to share, starting with the potato omelette, and from the Galician octopus to some garlic shrimp, from some serrano ham croquettes to Spanish cheeses with D.O. certified. Then, typical stews such as tripe or lentils, rice in paella or broth, cuts of grilled meat or good fish, tuna in various ways, iron, Biscay, or white fish in traditional stews, Galician style, or in a seafood sauce. From our oven, suckling pig and shoulder or shanks of lamb and, why not, some roast pork ribs or knuckles. The desserts, classics too. Milk or coconut flans, Catalan cream or "tocino de cielo", among others.Special mention the wine list. Counting the premises with refrigerated cavas for optimal conservation, a wide variety of wines are offered, whether they are from Argentina or Chile or Spain, from where we can offer from reds, whites and soft cavas to large reserves of Rioja, Ribera del Duero and other DO like Toro, and of course, they could not miss the magnificent whites of the Rias Baixas, with their incomparable Albariños. Now that little by little bottles from other areas are beginning to arrive in the country, this availability of wines from different Spanish wine-growing areas will soon increase without any doubt.In the restaurants, you can enjoy a warm, familiar atmosphere and a very pleasant camaraderie, with the presence of their owners, and with a professional team that has been serving our guests for years.
