Olive Japan 2021 has wrapped up and the results are officially in. This prestigious international competition welcomed more than 800 entries from 27 different countries, setting a new record in terms of participation. Of those, 230 brands were from Spain, five took home Premier (Best of Show) awards and six took home Special awards.

There were a total of ten Premier awards, half of which went to the following Spanish oils: Cladivm (Aroden), Castillo de Salvatierra Cornicabra (Canuto Largo), Melgarejo Composicion Premium (Aceites Campoliva), Knolive Epicure (Knolive Oils), and Oro del Desierto Picual (Rafael Alonso Aguirella).

As for the Special awards, Spain took home the best flavored oil distinction: Finca La Torre al Limón (Finca La Reja), and the Toshiya Tada Special Olive Oil Sommelier Award (2nd Best in Show) went to Castillo de Canena/Family Reserve Picual (Castillo de Canena Olive Juice), Masia El Altet High End (Masia El Altet), Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil 399 (Pago Los Bichos), Soleae Extra Virgin Olive Oil 100% Ocal (Soleae).
