Spanish Restaurants Make Waves on the OAD’s Top 150 Restaurants in Europe List

Two Spanish restaurants were real standouts  on the OAD’s Top 150 Restaurants in Europe List:  txebarri, which was ranked 3rd, and Quique Dacosta, which came in 8th.

OAD (Opinionated About Dining) has finally released its anxiously-awaited list of the best 150 restaurants in Europe for 2021 and Spanish names are everywhere you look. In total, 32 restaurants from Spain made the grade and were included in this select list.

The top 50 included everyone from Etxebarri (3rd), Quique Dacosta (8th), Disfrutar (12th) and Azurmendi (13th) to El Celler de Can Roca (21st), Els Casals (22nd), Aponiente (31st) and Martin Berasategui (41st).

Moving slightly down the list, we find well-known eateries like Ca l’Enric (59th), Alkimia (61st), Arzak (62nd), Noor (74th), Lasarte (76th) and Nerua (91st).

The last section of the 150 list highlights locales like El Campero, Moments, Casa Marcial, El Poblet, Cocina Hermanos Torres, Akelarre and Dos Palillos.

On the Highly Recommended list, there are another 15 restaurants from Spain, among them Enoteca, BonAmb, DSTAgE, and Ricard Camarena.

OAD is a popular dining survey and the only one that includes experience as a factor in the rating system. Spanish restaurants have increasingly made the cut, which is especially impressive since the voting takes into account over 220,000 reviews from more than 7,000 people on the platform. What’s more, of the 354 restaurants on the OAD’s lists for Europe, an incredible 72 were in Spain.
