With 2,600 exhibiting companies on the premises, an exhibition area spanning 65,000 square meters, and more than 145 activities for attendees, it’s unsurprising how popular this event is among sector professionals. The activities are particularly interesting, and include everything from conferences called “The future of cheese alternatives” and “The impact of social networks on adolescents’ eating habits to cooking demos like “Food for healthy ageing” and “Zero waste dishes.” An enormously wide range of topics will be addressed at Alimentaria, from sustainability, innovation in packaging, and alternative proteins to insects, vegetarian charcuterie, and food and hospitality startups. Some of Spain’s top chefs will also be on hand, including Elena Arzak, Juan Llorca, Marcos Morán, Xavier Pellicer, the trio from Disfrutar, and Pepe Rodriguez.
