International Experts Visit the Goat Forum 2024

Specialists Gathered in the XIV National Goat Forum, which took place in Jerez de la Frontera on June 20th and 21st

On the occasion of the celebration of the XIV National Goat Forum, which took place in Jerez de la Frontera on June 20th and 21st, specialists in the goat sector from Colombia, Brazil, and Venezuela had the opportunity to gain in-depth knowledge of the various native breeds.

They attended the different activities organized at the Forum and visited several livestock farms in the Andalusian region. All this aimed to promote and strengthen the purebred livestock sector in international markets within the framework of the collaboration agreement between ICEX Spain Export and Investment and RFEAGAS.

This was done through the organization of reverse trade missions for foreign prescribers and after their visit to Madrid and meetings at the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Food (MAPA) and the RFEAGAS headquarters, the delegation continued their journey to Córdoba. On June 18th, they travelled to the Valle de los Pedroches to visit a Murciano-Granadina breed farm and the Livestock Cooperative of the Valle de los Pedroches (COVAP).

On June 19th, they travelled to another Murciano-Granadina breed farm. Following this, they visited the Andalusian Goat Selection and Improvement Centre, including its laboratory and facilities. Later, the members of the reverse trade mission enjoyed a cheese tasting session featuring the 100% Native Breed Logo, accompanied by local wines.

On June 20th and 21st, the international specialists attended the National Goat Forum in Jerez de la Frontera (Cádiz), where they participated in various activities related to gaining a closer understanding of the purebred Spanish goat sector.
