Levprot Bioscience and Oscillum Win Awards at Agri Food Tech Expo Asia

While the former received recognition for Best Technology Solution, the latter was awarded Best Packaging Solution

The end of 2024 brought outstanding news for Spain’s Foodtech sector, with several awards highlighting its global relevance. One example is the Agri Food Tech Expo Asia, an event held in Singapore, the region’s leading showcase platform for products, services, and solutions at the forefront of innovation in the global Agri-Food and Agri-Tech Industry.

Spanish brands—exemplifying Spain’s most advanced, innovative, and high-quality products across various agri-foodtech categories—displayed their offerings at the Spanish Pavilion.

Among the Spanish companies, two stood out by winning awards at the event. Levprot Bioscience was recognized with the Best Technology Integration award, while Oscillum received the Best Packaging Solution prize.

Two Leading Companies in Foodtech Sector

Levprot Bioscience is a pioneering biotechnology company at the forefront of precision fermentation technology that produces proteins in yeast cells. Within the foodtech sector, its flagship projects include developing high-value ingredients that enhance the functional and sensory characteristics of final products. At the Singapore event, they showcased their Recombinant Bovine Serum Albumin (rBSA), a protein produced through precision fermentation. This process enables the production of a recombinant, animal-free version of BSA, which is naturally found in cow serum.

Oscillum, on the other hand, develops and commercializes biotechnological solutions to reduce resource waste in the agri-food, cosmetic, and pharmaceutical sectors. Their Addvibe® intelligent labeling system allows real-time monitoring of product status, while Stiint®, additives for active packaging systems, extends product shelf life by absorbing gases released during degradation or inhibiting the growth of pathogenic bacteria.

Both companies exemplify cutting-edge innovation in their fields, contributing significantly to the global agri-foodtech ecosystem.
