As is the case with Quevana, a small company based in Segovia which produce organic & aged cheeses made from cashew nuts, without any animal ingredients.
Their cheeses only have 3 base ingredients: raw cashews, Himalayan salt and probiotics.
Quevana’s mission is to help in the transition towards a better food system by offering products that, apart from being delicious, are healthy for people, sustainable for the planet and take animals out of the production equation.
Quevana had the opportunity to participate in The Desafia FoodTech Immersion Program in 2021 edition, organized by ICEX. This is a program designed to help Spanish startups scale internationally via The Netherlands, by identifying a clear product-market fit and establishing themselves in a new ecosystem while getting access to market and capital needs, as it happened with Quevana.
As part of the program, two weeks of immersion are provided, whereby companies have the opportunity to interact with the primary agents and companies in this ecosystem firsthand through networking activities, workshops, company visits, work and scalability procedures carried out by a specialized agency. Participants also learned about the international market access options offered by this ecosystem.
