Contrast this with the second tasting. The eight fine wines come from the Ribera del Duero DO, which will also be presented by David Schwarzwälder in his usual detailed manner. Tempranillo is the big topic here, because the Ribera del Duero DO is considered the Mecca of the grape variety, which is called Tinto fino there. An aha effect of the tasting: nowhere else in the world can you find such a high concentration of varietal wines of the extra class.
