Update RUEDA – am Beispiel biozertifizierter Weine

Virtuell lernen, real verkosten.

Rueda,  the oldest of the Castilian-Leonesian appellations, stands for dynamic white wines, made from the very old Verdejo grape: wonderfully refreshing with an acidity and crispness that will win over even die-hard Sauvignon blanc fans.

The region is very charming in its barrenness and bears little resemblance to the lush Central European wine landscapes. It is precisely this combination of terroir, centuries-old practice, conversion to the latest technologies and young, creative winegrowers that has revived Rueda over the last 30 years. It is no surprise that Rueda is today the most successful white wine in Spain.

However, in addition to the classics, there is much more movement in this region and this has led to interesting developments: Be it the establishment of the new top category Gran Vino de Rueda, the enormous progress in the organic wine sector, the approval of further grape varieties or the production of sparkling wines of "great vintages". Spain expert David Schwarzwälder will bring the participants up to date in this entertaining webinar. He will present top class wines that are already certified organic or in the process of being certified organic and will talk about the people behind the wines of this extremely dynamic region.
