2 p.m.:  Vibrant wines from legendary high altitudes in Spain (wine selection 1)

Speaker: Fernando Mora, MW

Fernando Mora, MW, will present a selection of wines from some of Spain's legendary high-altitude vineyards. Spain is home to some of Europe's highest vineyards, and there are impressive high-altitude vineyards throughout Spain. Discover fresh and lively wines from Spain's high altitudes, offering a modern and elegant style that is in high demand on international markets.

 

4 p.m.: Volcanic Wines from the Canary Islands

Speaker: Bartolomé Gómez Diaz, Spanish Sommelier, Certified Wine Educator and Canary Wines Ambassador.

This is a unique tasting that explores the singular identity of Canary Islands wines through eight carefully selected references. Atlantic influence, and extreme vineyard conditions, these wines are made from indigenous grape varieties found nowhere else in the world. A sensory journey that highlights authenticity, diversity, and the unmistakable character of a truly unique wine-growing region.

12 a.m.:  Green future in a glass: Sustainable, Organic & Biodynamic wines from Spain

Speaker: Thomas Götz

Thomas Götz shows an exclusive selection of Spanish wines that are born out of respect for the environment, produced using sustainable, organic and biodynamic practices. A global trend that combines quality, authenticity and commitment to the land translated into wines from all over Spain and from the most reknown wine regiones of our country.

 

2 p.m.:  Garnachas Históricas Project - The Results

Speaker: David Schwarzwälder/José Ignacio Gracia from CRDO Campo de Borja

The DO Campo de Borja, in collaboration with the universities of Zaragoza and Pamplona, has carried out a four-year research programme with the aim of studying historic Garnacha Tinta plantations. The genetic material was analysed in order to protect and preserve the old clone material. In addition, the organoleptic properties of the grape material from historic plantations were defined.
