Foods and Wines from Spain and the Economic and Commercial Office of the Embassy of Spain in Tokyo have been organizing OPEN DAYS JAPAN since 2023, as part of the Spain Food Nation campaign, with the aim of increasing awareness and promoting the sales of Spanish wines and gourmet food products in the Japanese market. This edition will take place alongside DISCOVERY ZONE, a platform to promote Spanish companies with the aim of entering the Japanese market.
This event provides Japanese companies involved in importing Spanish wines and foods with the opportunity to present these products to professionals engaged in purchasing and sales at retail stores, restaurants, hotels and other industry professionals. Besides, Discovery Zone will present Spanish companies that are currently not operating in Japan, in order to present their products to importers with the aim of entering the Japanese market.
As part of the #SpainFoodNation campaign, the event led by Foods and Wines from Spain, and the Economic and Commercial Office of the Embassy of Spain pursues two main objectives:
Showcase the quality, excellence, diversity, and uniqueness of Spanish food and beverages to industry professionals in Japan, one of the campaign’s key focus markets.
Support Spanish importers in expanding the distribution of their products.
Contribute to the expansion of the Spanish gastronomical supply in Japan by promoting new companies with the aim of entering this market.
This year, the event will take place in Japan’s two major cities: Tokyo and Osaka, with a total of 36 importers exhibiting in Tokyo, and 28 in Osaka.
All showcased products are of Spanish origin, including:
- Food: Iberian ham and other cured meat products, seafood products (such as anchovies), pickled and preserved vegetables, spices, condiments, and more.
- Beverages: Wine, sparkling wine, beer, spirits (such as gin), mineral water, etc.
