In addition to these new two-star restaurants, 27 new establishments in Spain obtain their first star
The Michelin Guide Spain & Portugal 2022 was presented yesterday at the Queen Sofía Palace of the Arts in Valencia and four new two-star restaurants were also announced. San Sebastián added one more Michelin stars to an already brilliant culinary landscape with a second star for Amelia by Paulo Airaudo. In this intimate restaurant, the chef mixes Basque gastronomy with culinary influences from Argentina, Italy and Japan. Another new two-star locale is Voro, in Canyamel, on the island of Mallorca, where chef Álvaro Salazar reinterprets timeless Mediterranean and Mallorcan recipes, playing with textures.
One of the biggest surprises among the two-star restaurants is Smoked Room, in Madrid, created by Dani García, where young chef Massimiliano Delle Vedove demonstrates his mastery of charcoal cooking techniques to make creations with subtle touches of smoke. This restaurant, which opened in June, has been awarded two stars after only being operational for six months. Iván Cerdeño restaurant, named after its chef, takes advantage of an exceptional setting—a historic estate with magical views of the Tajo and the city of Toledo—to offer dishes that pay tribute to the products of La Mancha, from an innovative point of view.

The following restaurants were recognized with the Michelin Green Star, which recognizes their unwavering commitment to sustainable gastronomy combined with a strong culinary identity: Cenador de Amós (Villaverde de Pontones, Cantabria), Coque (Madrid), El Celler de Can Roca (Girona), Finca Alfoliz (Aljaraque, Huelva), Lera (Castroverde de Campos, Zamora) and Maca de Castro (Puerto de Alcúdia - Majorca).
