Award-winning olive oil makers Castillo de Canena, based in Jaén, has launched a new range of functional oils with a very solid nutritional component. These extra virgin olive oils are made from organic Arbequina olives, with natural compounds and vitamins, making consumers’ culinary experiences even healthier than before.

The new line, called Salute Per Oleum (SPO), comprises four products called Antiox, Nosotras, Mi primer aceite and InmunÓleo. The first oil is enriched with coenzyme Q10 and vitamin E and is ideal for people at risk of cardiovascular disease and who want to protect themselves from ageing caused by the sun. The second two are enriched with omega-3 fatty acids DHA and EPA and the latter with the daily recommended dose of vitamin D3, which helps bolster our immune systems.
According to the company’s managing director, Francisco Vañó, “Extra virgin olive oils are a natural source of antioxidants, carotene and vitamin E, but we wanted to go above and beyond and provide added value by making them even healthier and with a higher nutritional component... And we continue to innovate and research to respond to future needs that may arise among consumers and citizens.”
