The prestigious report from Drinks International was based on votes from bartenders at the very best bars in the world
Spanish spirits and fortified wines stood out in the Annual Brands Report published by Drinks International. This highly prestigious report, one of the sector’s most important, features a beverage ranking based on votes from the locales included in the World’s 100 Best Bars ranking and the bartenders there, who are considered industry experts.
Gin Mare was a standout once again, taking home honors in two of the most important rankings within that report and was included among the Best Selling Gins (7th) and Top Trending Gins (6th). This is a major milestone considering that Gin Mare is an independent Spanish brand.
According to Javier Pérez Pin, Regional Manager Iberia for Gin Mare and Brand Portfolio at Vantguard, “Recognition by the global bartending community and Gin Mare’s excellent position in the prestigious list is a resounding success for a pioneering product that revolutionized the gin market when it was created more than a decade ago. Hard work by the entire team at Vantguard (which owns the brand) in international markets has helped position Gin Mare as the most well-known Spanish gin—and the most poplar—worldwide.”
In the brandy category, Torres Brandy, Carlos I and Osborne were among the best selling brandies, in 1st, 4th and 5th place, respectively, and Torres Brandy, Osborne, Ysabel Regina, and Carlos I brandies dominated the Top Trending Brandies list, at 1st, 3rd, 4th and 5th place. In the vermouth category, Yzaguirre took 10th place in the Top Sellers list and Lustau ranked 9th in the Top Selling Brands list.
As for the sherry ranking, the list of Spanish companies was as follows: Gonzalez Byass, Lustau, Sandeman, La Gitana and Valdespino were the top sellers and the top trending brands were Gonzalez Byass, Lustau, Sandeman, Williams & Humbert, and La Gitana.
