Murcia al Vino and Mahón-Menorca cheeses from Spain were presented in differerent cities in events organized by Foods from Spain in New York.
San Francisco (CA), Austin (TX), New Orleans (LA), Cedar City, and Santa Clara (UT) were some of the cities on the US tour of cheese from Spain, a series of presentations and tastings featuring Murcia al Vino, a goat´s milk cheese washed in red wine during ripening; and Mahón-Menorca, a cow´s milk cheese with a salty, buttery and bold flavor. Foods from Spain in New York organized the events.
Spanish food lovers and professionals (chefs, retailers, restaurant owners) learnt from local cheesemongers about the Protected Designation of Origin of both cheeses and sampled delicious recipes created by chef Mat Schuster, of Canela Bistro & Wine Bar in San Francisco,.
Renowned culinary schools such as City College in San Francisco, Austin Community College, University of New Orleans, and Southwest Tech and shops such as Drager’s, Antonelli’s, St. James Cheese Shop and Harmons, hosted these demonstrations.
