The chefs, from certified Restaurants from Spain, visited an Iberian pork products producer, a cheese factory and an olive mill of EVOO and attended a wine tasting.
Madrid Fusión recently ran from January 26th to the 28th in Madrid. This event, which brings together world-class chefs, welcomed thousands of participants from 61 different countries. Among them, there were 5 chefs, invited by Foods & Wines from Spain, who were able to visit the exhibition area, which congregated 224 companies this year, and take part in conferences in the different auditorium which engaged more than 300 speakers. After that, they embarked in a trip to Castilla-La Mancha to meet different food and wine companies in the region. All of them carry out their work in restaurants certified with the Restaurants from Spain quality seal.
They had the opportunity to visit Deraza Ibérico factory, in Talavera de la Reina, and Finca la Pontezuela, in Los Navalmorales (Toledo). On the second day, they went to Consuegra in order to see the cheese factory Quesos César and attend a wine tasting with sommelier Isabel Peces, where they had the opportunity to taste wines from Castilla-La Mancha region.
The participant chefs came from the following restaurants: ¡Ay Manuela! in Xiamen (China); Bayfare Social/Rosewood Hotel in Hong Kong; Cuina Catalana Masia in Tokyo (Japan); Restaurante Español Estella in Karuizawa (Japan); and Nomada Restaurant in Singapur.
The purpose of this visit is for the head chefs of these restaurants to incorporate everything they have learned in order to offer an even more authentic Spanish culinary experience to their diners.
