The 8th edition of the Open Days: Spanish Food and Wine Showroom organized by the Economic and Commercial Office of the Embassy of Spain in Shanghai and ICEX Spain Trade and Investment will be held in Nanjing on the 1st of December of 2022.
The Open Days have been successful bringing key actors of the agrifood and beverage sectors together in China. The main goal of these events is to achieve the promotion of high-quality products from Spain, to increase the awareness of Spanish products in Jiangsu province and to facilitate the relations between companies and distributors, thus providing business opportunities for them.
Nanjing, located in Jiangsu province, with a population of 8.5 million habitants and income more than 9,903$ per capita in 2019, a strategic location and one of highest purchasing power in China, is the capital of Jiangsu province, which is one of the most active provinces in Chinese Economy. The export from Spain to Nanjing has reached 156 million USD in 2019. According to Mckinsey Institute’s report of “The most dynamic cities in the World 2010-2015”, Nanjing ranks 15th. Its GDP will increase more than 402% from now to 2025.
The previous editions of the Open Days got together more than 400 professionals (importers, distributors, foodservice professionals, sommeliers and media specialists) and more than 100 final consumers. Other related activities like Spanish ham and cheese tasting took place.
The Economic & Commercial Office of Spain and ICEX, as the official trade promotion body of the Spanish Government in China, have more than 20 years’ experience organizing promotional events in this country, developing relations between Spanish companies and Chinese importers and distributors, as well as promoting the image of quality and excellence of Foods and Wines from Spain.
To ensure everyone’s safety, the Open Days will take place strictly following the COVID19 prevention and control measures implemented by the Chinese authorities. If necessary, temperature controls will be carried out and the individual health code will be requested to enter the venue. Prevention materials such as masks, and disinfectant may be supplied
