The 1st edition of the Open Days of Spanish Wine in Russia, organized by Foods and Wines from Spain and #Alimentos de España, in collaboration with the Economic&Commercial Office of Spain, in Moscow will take place in Moscow on the 22nd and in Sochi on the 25th of November 2021.

The main goal of these events is to achieve the promotion of high-quality wines from Spain, to increase the awareness of Spanish products in Moscow and Sochi and to facilitate the relations between companies and distributors, thus providing business opportunities for them.

Moscow, with 16 million inhabitants, is the capital city of Russia its most important economic hub and one of the most dynamic consumer markets in Europe. The main wine and food distribution companies in Russia have their headquarters in Moscow.

Sochi, with 370.000 inhabitants is the most important touristic city in Russia all year round, thanks to its vicinity to the sea as well as to the main sky resort in the country. Preferred holiday destination by many wealthy Russians, Sochi has a booming horeca sector, with per capita ratios similar to those in Moscow.

The forecast is of 300 professionals (retail foodservice professionals, sommeliers and media specialists) to visit the event in both cities. Tastings of a selection of sill wines conducted by Ilya Kirilin (a specialized wine blogger and journalist #garnacha_man) in Moscow and Grigori Chegodaev, one of the best sommeliers in Russia in Sochi will be organized.

The Economic & Commercial Office of Spain and ICEX, as the official trade promotion body of the Spanish Government in Russia, have more than 20 years’ experience organizing promotional events in this country, developing relations between Spanish companies and Russian importers and distributors, as well as promoting the image of quality and excellence of Foods and Wines from Spain.

To ensure everyone’s safety, the Open Days will take place strictly following the COVID19 prevention and control measures implemented by the Russian authorities. If necessary, temperature controls will be carried out and the individual healthy code will be requested to enter the venue. Prevention materials such as masks, and disinfectant may be supplied.
