Spain Food Nation Summit US 2023

The Spain Food Nation Summit 2023 will take place on the afternoon of October 17th at Mercado Little Spain in Hudson Yards, New York, highlighting the quality of Spanish food and wine and boosting trade relations between Spain and the United States.

The Summit is a brand-new initiative launching in several international markets that will gather top influencers and leaders in the wine, food, and gastronomy sectors to present the latest research, discuss market trends, and share best business practices in the market. The summit builds on another initiative, the establishment of Advisory Councils for both Foods from Spain and Wines from Spain.

Opening this much anticipated event, representatives from ICEX Spain Trade and Investment, the Spain Ministry of Agriculture, Fishing and Food, and the Trade Commission of Spain in New York will present the latest insights regarding the positioning of Spain’s food and wine products in the US market.

The Summit includes two round table discussions to present some of the key recommendations from the Advisory Councils to expand the adoption of foods and wines from Spain in the US and explore the potential for further market growth. In addition to the round table discussions, John Gillespie, from Wine Opinions, will reveal the results and findings from the latest market research study commissioned on the US wine market and Spain’s position within it.

The Summit is the brainchild of ICEX’s promotional body Foods & Wines from Spain and Alimentos de España and aims to improve engagement with one of Spain’s most important export markets. The US buys around $9 billion dollars worth of food and beverages from Spain, from an extensive range of wines to extra virgin olive oils, olives, and of course the unequaled Jamon and charcuterie from Spain and other iconic foods from Spain’s food pantry such as cheese and canned seafood.
