Exceptional circumstances, exceptional format: the traditional presentation and tasting of Spanish delicacies will take place for the first time throughout a period of two weeks and without the presence of exhibitors. .
Twelve Spanish producers have joined the event and shipped their gourmet products to Austria this year where the Economic and Commercial Office will arrange an exhibition room on their premises in Vienna, where the buyers, invited to individual meetings, will be able to appreciate the quality of the presented products from 19 to 30 October 2020, and, of course, to taste them.

During the Spanish Speciality Weeks, not only classic delicacies such as tender Ibérico ham, fine duck liver pâté, exquisite canned fish, fine olive oils, refreshing gazpacho or juicy tortillas will be served, but also new product creations such as balsamic pearls, dates filled with organic chocolate, superfood jams with quinoa or exotic fruit juices. Simultaneously to the tasting visitors will have the opportunity to talk to the Spanish producers via videoconference.
Representatives of a total of twelve Austrian companies are expected to accept the invitation, including the general director and the purchasing team of the wholesale chain Metro and buyers from the supermarket chains Billa and Merkur (Rewe Group). Not only those, but also importers of Spanish specialities, owners of gourmet shops, suppliers from the Horeca sector, and representatives of Spanish restaurants.
In the run-up to the event, the Economic and Commercial Office will organise a virtual business breakfast with all participating spanish producers.
