‘Taste of Europe’ is an annual event organized by the EU Delegation to the USA and the Embassies of its Member States with the objective to promote european agrifood products in the USA. The participating EU Member States contributed up to four food (finger food) or drink items which were served to attendees at the event. EU Member States showcased the diverse taste of Europe with high-quality food and drinks including cheeses, olives, hams, chocolates, pastries, deserts and beverages.
On its third edition, ‘Taste of Europe 2022’ took place at Eastern Market's North Hall, a public market in the historic Capitol Hill neigbourhood of Washington DC and it brought together more than 200 attendees including members of Congress, representatives of the US administration and the diplomatic corps, as well as many friends of Europe.
The program of the event included a presentation of the newly released comparative report on EU and US agricultural industries and bilateral trade relations, which affect millions of producers and consumers on both sides of the Atlantic. The EU and the US are the world’s largest agricultural producers and major players in the global agri-food trade.
The Spain booth was organized by Foods and Wines from Spain and Alimentos de España, through the Economic and Commercial Office of Spain in Washington DC in collaboration with the Agricultural Office of Spain. It highlighted by the Spanish Iberic ham, cheeses, table olives and extra virgin olive oil which are four iconic gourmet products that represent the essence of the Spanish gastronomy.
