This masterclass explores the more intriguing expressions of Rías Baixas through a curated selection of six wines that challenge expectations and reveal the region’s complexity. Moving beyond the archetype of fresh, early-drinking whites, we will taste wines shaped by lees-ageing, extended texture, alternative styles, and lesser-known native varieties.

This masterclass will explore how old vines can produce more complex, distinctive wines with remarkable ageing potential. The DO Campo de Borja pioneering Garnachas Históricas project—developed in collaboration with the public universities of Navarra and Zaragoza—highlights the exceptional potential and aromatic expression of Garnacha from old vines. Drawing on four years of research, the initiative underscores the value of preserving viticultural heritage and its close connection to terroir, while also introducing an innovative methodology to rigorously certify the true age of these historic vineyards.
