Eat Spain Drink Spain Returns to Puerto Rico!

From October 1st to 15th, the Economic and Commercial Office of Spain in Puerto Rico will host the second edition of Eat Spain Drink Spain, an event that pays tribute to Spanish gastronomy on the island. It’s a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the flavors, aromas, and traditions of Spain through a special program organized in collaboration with restaurants, gourmet shops, and supermarkets across Puerto Rico.

The goal is to showcase to Puerto Rican audiences the diversity and quality of Spanish food and beverages already present on the island, both in restaurants and in specialized shops and large retailers.

For two weeks, Puerto Rico will become a vibrant stage celebrating the richness and variety of Spanish gastronomy, with the participation of numerous restaurants, supermarkets, and gourmet stores throughout the metropolitan area and Cayey. Conceived as a true culinary festival, the initiative will bring together establishments committed to offering unique gastronomic experiences that reflect the essence and character of Spanish cuisine.

About the Event

RUTA DE LA TAPA

Seventeen renowned restaurants in San Juan, Guaynabo, and Cayey will take part in the first-ever Spanish Tapas Route in Puerto Rico. This initiative will allow residents and visitors to explore different venues and enjoy small but flavor-packed creations inspired by the diverse culinary traditions of Spain—from classic recipes to contemporary reinterpretations. Several restaurants will also prepare special Spanish menus designed exclusively for the occasion, highlighting top-quality ingredients and a balance of tradition and creativity.

The Tapas Route includes 34 tapas in total (two per restaurant), each paired with a beverage at the fixed price of USD 15. Awards will be given to the best tapa, both by public vote and jury selection. Guests can pick up a “Tapas Route Passport” at any participating restaurant, containing full details and voting cards. By casting their votes, participants will also have the chance to win fantastic prizes.

TASTINGS AND EVENTS

The program will also feature tastings and culinary events hosted both at restaurants and at the venues of leading importers and distributors on the island. These activities will focus on guided wine tastings paired with emblematic Spanish dishes, offering Puerto Rican audiences the chance to discover the stories and traditions behind each product.

DISCOUNTS AND PROMOTIONS

Participating supermarkets and specialty shops will offer exclusive discounts and promotions on a wide and carefully curated selection of Spanish products. Shoppers will have the opportunity to bring home the very best of Spain’s pantry: from cured meats and cheeses with designation of origin, to gourmet preserves, wines, olive oils, and traditional sweets.

Through this celebration, Eat Spain Drink Spain will not only highlight the quality and variety of Spanish gastronomy, but also serve as a cultural meeting point. It will showcase to Puerto Rican audiences and international visitors both the authenticity of traditional Spanish cuisine and its contemporary expressions, capable of adapting to today’s trends without losing their identity.
