Eat Spain Drink Spain is back in Puerto Rico!
The Spanish Economic and Commercial Office in Puerto Rico is organizing the third edition of Eat Spain Drink Spain, this time extending from September 15 to October 15, offering a whole month of immersion in Spanish cuisine.
This event is a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in its flavors, aromas, and traditions through a special program offered by restaurants, gourmet shops, and supermarkets on the island. The aim is to introduce the Puerto Rican public to the variety and quality of Spanish food and drink available on the island, both in restaurants and in specialty stores and supermarkets.
For fifteen days, Puerto Rico will be transformed into a great showcase for the richness and variety of Spanish cuisine, with the participation of numerous establishments. This initiative, conceived as a true culinary festival, will bring together establishments committed to offering the public unique gastronomic experiences that reflect the essence and character of Spanish cuisine.
About the Event
RUTA DE LA TAPA
Following the success of its first edition, the Tapas Route is set to be the main attraction of this third edition of the campaign. This “Chinchorreo de la tapa” seeks to find the best Spanish tapas in Puerto Rico, and we want Puerto Ricans to be our judges. Get your passport and voting card and enter the draw for fantastic prizes with every vote!
Spanish-style restaurants will participate in this second edition of the Spanish Tapas Route organized in Puerto Rico. This initiative will allow residents and visitors to visit different establishments to taste flavorful creations inspired by Spain's rich cuisine, accompanied by different regional drinks such as wines, beers, or sangrias for just $15.
For every two tapas, participants will have the chance to select their favorite tapa and enter the draw for numerous prizes, such as a dinner at the winning restaurant or hotel stays, among other surprises we have in store for this edition. Don't miss out!
SPANISH MENUS
From September 15 to October 15, enjoy special menus with off-menu dishes that will bring the best flavors of Spain to your tables.
The restaurants participating in this format will offer exclusive creations for this month with diverse options for all tastes, carefully prepared with quality ingredients and recipes that combine tradition and creativity.
TASTINGS AND EVENTS
The program of activities will also include numerous events held throughout the month. Puerto Ricans will be able to enjoy wine tastings from different regions of Spain, flamenco shows and classes, master cooking classes, tasting menus with wine pairings, and much more!
These experiences will be spread across the different participating venues, creating a personalized and ideal atmosphere for each of the activities. These events aim to offer the Puerto Rican public an interesting variety of options so that everyone can choose the Spain they are most interested in discovering: Become a sommelier, a real chef, or a professional dancer—the choice is yours!
DISCOUNTS AND PROMOTIONS
Supermarkets and specialty stores will offer exclusive promotions and discounts on a wide and carefully selected range of Spanish products during these days, giving consumers the opportunity to take home the best of our pantry: from cured meats and cheeses with designation of origin to gourmet preserves, wines, oils, and traditional sweets.
In this way, the event will not only highlight the quality and variety of Spanish cuisine but will also serve as a cultural meeting point. It will show the Puerto Rican public and international visitors both the authenticity of the most traditional Spanish cuisine and its contemporary versions, capable of adapting to current trends without renouncing their identity.
RUTA DE LA TAPA
Seventeen renowned restaurants in San Juan, Guaynabo, and Cayey will take part in the first-ever Spanish Tapas Route in Puerto Rico. This initiative will allow residents and visitors to explore different venues and enjoy small but flavor-packed creations inspired by the diverse culinary traditions of Spain—from classic recipes to contemporary reinterpretations. Several restaurants will also prepare special Spanish menus designed exclusively for the occasion, highlighting top-quality ingredients and a balance of tradition and creativity.
The Tapas Route includes 34 tapas in total (two per restaurant), each paired with a beverage at the fixed price of USD 15. Awards will be given to the best tapa, both by public vote and jury selection. Guests can pick up a “Tapas Route Passport” at any participating restaurant, containing full details and voting cards. By casting their votes, participants will also have the chance to win fantastic prizes.
