A unique Spanish Food & Wines Exhibition took place in the prestigious gastronomic event Spanish Extravaganza, held on Thursday, 14th of October at the Hotel Camino Real Polanco
20 Spanish companies -12 winemakers and 8 food companies (olive oil, iberic products and cheeses) - together with 13 Mexican Importers of Spanish gourmet products and wines showed their wide offer to a very selected professional audience at the Salón Virreyes in Hotel Camino Real Polanco.
More than 240 professionals (importers, supermarket buyers, gourmet shops, restaurants, sommeliers, chefs and press) could see and enjoy this vast range of products, to introduce them in their establishments.
Besides, in this first edition of Spanish Extravaganza in Mexico, five prestigious Spanish chefs, star Michelin Ignacio Solana, star Michelin Miguel Barrera, Tapas Master Ager Urigüen, Paella Master, Jordi Gimeno and Paella Master, David Montero offered delicious dishes to the public, including tapas, paellas and desserts with the best Spanish ingredients that could already be found in the Aztec country.
Two wine tastings, each with six wines from the Spanish cellars participating in the Exhibition, conducted by the Wine Master, Jesús Díez and a Food Seminar, conducted by Master Alejandro Paadín, were among the activities organized for the professional public to give information and be able to enjoy our most emblematic products, taking part in this exhibition.
ICEX Consejera Delegada, Dña. María Peña and the Spanish Ambassador in Mexico, D. Juan López-Doriga were present and addressed a few word to all the participants, expositors and visitors, praising the Spanish products and acknowledging the warm welcome they always encounter among the Mexican public.
Let´s hope this will be the first of many more opportunities to celebrate this prestigious event and bring closer to the Mexican market our much appreciated offer of Spanish gourmet products and wines.
