At Taste Spain 2024 you can enjoy two special events:

12.30 - 14.00 - Olive oil tasting. 

 

The tasting will be led by Monika Solińska, the first and only olive oil sommelier in Poland certified by the New York Olive Oil Times and the International Culinary Center in London. Monika Solińska is an olive oil promoter and shares her olive oil knowledge during lectures and workshops. Monika will present the latest information from the Spanish and world’s olive oil market and introduce guests to professional olive oil tasting using 4 olive varieties as examples.

15.00 - 16.30 - Workshop on professional cutting of Iberian ham.

 

The workshop will be led (in English) by special guest Jesús Manuel García - master cortador de jamon Los Finos, recommended by ASICI - the Spanish Iberian Pork Association.

 

Jesús M. García has more than 20 years of experience in his craft. He inherited this particular interest and passion from his father, and he took his first ‘steps’, or rather cuts, as early as the age of 8. During the workshop, Jesús M. García will reveal the secrets of skillful ham cutting. The technique used by the Spanish masters involves cutting the thinnest possible slices at the right angle, which allows the unique qualities of the ham to be released and highlighted. When masterfully cut, the ham slice is suitably thin and the fat overgrowth further softens the texture of the meat, melting on the palate.
