The third edition of the China International Import Expo 2020 will be held at the National Convention & Exhibit Center in Shnaghai from November 5th to November 10th. 

The celebration of CIIE has been one of the most significant moves by the Chinese government to promote bilateral trade and economic globalization since Chinese Chairman Xi Jinping announced the Belt and Road initiative back in 2013. The exhibition will play a key role on the development of a more open world economy by actively opening the Chinese market for other nations and regions to access, thus strengthening economic and trade cooperation between them.

On the second edition of CIIE in 2019, there were more than 3.800 exhibitor (5% more than 2018) coming from 181 countries and regions. Due to the multisectoral character of the exhibition, the products that visitors can find range from hi-tech, automotion and manufacturing equipment, to medical products, food, beverages and commercial services. On 2019, the number of foreign buyers increased around 35% from the previous year, showing a significant rise in interest from international companies. 

Organized by the Spanish Institute of Foreign Trade (ICEX), in close cooperation with the Economic & Commercial Office of Spain in Shanghai, Spain will have a 300 m2 pavilion in the commercial area of the Food & Beverage Hall. There will be 14 Spanish companies participating as exhibitors (selling pork, wine, oil and other products), coming from very diverse regions of our country (Álava, Alicante, Badajoz, Córdoba, Jaén, Madrid, Málaga, Navarra, Salamanca, Valencia and Zaragoza). 

Despite the global pandemic that the world is facing during 2020, the effective celebration of CIIE goes to show just how important this event is for the Chinese government. Rest assured, there will be a great amount of safety measures put in place for the health and security of every attendant.
