29 wines took home gold and silver medals, with one grand gold medal going to Valencian wine Las Hoces 2020

Several Spanish wines did very well at the Mundis Vini Biofach International Organic Wine Competition, recently held in Germany. In total, 29 Spanish wines took home medals at this prestigious event.

Valencian winery Luis Corbí, which is made up of Finca Cor Ví and Clos Cor Ví, did especially well, as its wines Las Hoces 2020 and Cimera both took home top honors. The former received the Grand Gold medal and was the only Spanish red wine to do so this year, while the latter, a white wine, took home a gold medal. Both wines were also distinguished as the Best Organic Red Wine from Spain and the Best Organic White Wine from Spain.

Other wines that took home gold medals included Lagarona 2018 (Toro DO), Mureda 2022 (Vinos de la Tierra de Castilla IGP), Vergel Selection 2020, Pinoso Clásico 2020, Nodus DP 2020, and 11 Pinos Bobal 2021. Silver medal winners included Núñez de Garay Envejecido, Nodus Chardonnay Ecologico 2022, Filarmonia MSM 2021, Cava Jaume Serra Brut Organic, Fruto Noble Rosado 2022, and Adaras Aldea Almansa THU 2020, among others.

This event has been held since 2009. Every year, a group of more than 300 experts comes together to evaluate over 12,000 organic wines. The winning wines are presented at the Biofach trade fair in Nuremberg.
