In the province of Jaén in the municipalities of Alcalá la Real, Castillo de Locubín, Frailes, Fuensanta de Martos, Los Villares and Valdepeñas and some areas of Alcaudete and Martos.
Wines produced are white (young and aged in oak; min 10% vol), red (young, min 11% vol and aged in oak, min 12% vol), rosé and claretes.
White grapes approved: Jaén Blanco (or Baladí Verdejo) and Chardonnay.
Red grapes approved: Garnacha tinta, Tempranillo, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah and Pinot Noir.
Maximum crop: 8,800 kg/ha
