The 2020 Bacchus International Wine Competition, now in its 19th edition, is coming up next month and will be held from March 5th to the 9th in Madrid.
Spain will also be in the spotlight at the event as it will be the “guest country,” offering an outstanding opportunity for producers to showcase their products to opinion leaders and other attendees from around the world. This includes importers, procurement managers from department stores, members of the trade media, Masters of Wine, sommeliers and other industry professionals. There will be a wide range of promotional activities and initiatives that will underline the versatility and high quality of wines from Spain.
The event will kick off with a showroom on the 5th at which 25 wineries will participate with their wines made from a range of grapes, from Garnacha, Graciano, and Godello to Verdejo and Tempranillo and everything in between. Wineries of all kinds will participate, including cooperatives, small winemakers and large, international groups.
Then, from the 6th to the 9th, there will be three special masterclasses given, focusing on DO Jumilla, DO Valencia and Sherry wines of Grupo Osborne, as well as gala dinners organized by DO Rias Baixas, the Torres family, Bodegas Ramón Bilbao and González Byass.
