The results are in from the very prestigious Decanter World Wine Awards. The results offer wine lovers and sector professionals a definitive guide to the wine world as the competition is indubitably the largest and most influential of its kind. This year, Spain performed spectacularly, taking home the highest number of gold medals in its history.
In the best in show category, six Spanish wines took home accolades, including Mazas Roble, from Bodegas Mazas; Classica Rosado, from Hacienda López de Haro; Imperial Autor from Bodegas Cornelio Dinastía; 30 Years Old V.O.R.S Palo Cortado Sherry NV from Bodegas Lustau; Le Naturel Lakar, from Aroa Bodegas; and El Corral Cremat Brut Nature Penedès 2011, from Albet I Noya.
In the platinum category, 22 wines from Spain were recognized. They included Agramont Graciano, from Bodegas Agronavarra; Vacamulo, from Diego Rodriguez; and Finca Los Hoyales, from Cruz de Alba.
