196 Spanish Foods and Beverages Receive Star Ratings at Great Taste Awards

A wide range of products were recognized with stars, from pickled figs and turrón to Cantabrian anchovies and smoked paprika

Spanish products raked in the distinctions at the recently-held Great Taste Awards in the UK, with almost 200 foods and drinks being receiving recognition. Fifteen of them took home the highest honor: 3 stars. This included chestnut honey from Miel Camino de Santiago, smoked Cantabrian anchovies from Conservas Catalina, liquid Jijona turrón from Coloma García, Cantabrian anchovies in organic butter from Conservas MA Revilla, Riojan chorizo from Musgrave Retail Partners; gin from Mallorca Distillery, Equilater stout from Damm, and Cecina de León PGI from Embutidos Ferju.

Sixty-one products received two stars, among them organic extra virgin olive oil from ZooteeK, Inedit beer from Damm, lavender honey from Muria, butter beans and organic chickpeas from Bold Bean Co., transparent vinegar from Pago de los Baldíos San Carlos, PDO Jabugo 100% Ibérico acorn-fed ham from Jamones Eíriz, and marinated artichokes from Brindisa.

Lastly, of the 120 one star winners, the following stand out: PDO saffron threads from Bealar, smoked paprika from Seasoned Pioneers, dark chocolate with orange and marigold from ZooteeK, gourmet extra virgin olive oil from Picualia, aged Manchego cheese from Alimentias, and pickled green figs from Brindisa.The Great Taste Awards is one of the most trusted food and beverage awards in the world, with 500 experts—chefs, food writers, retailers, etc.—offering feedback and seals of approval.
